I spent the weekend at Largs Bay running the State Optimist Championships. On Sunday once the kids were out on the water, my girls and I walked from Largs to Semaphore to have lunch at Swedish Tarts. Our Swedish friends say it isn't totally authentic, but that didn't bother us when we saw the cake cabinet!
I shared a flatbread toasted sandwich filled with bacon, sun dried tomato, rocket, Parmesan and aioli with one of my girls, while the youngest had crepes with maple syrup and ice cream. My daughter and I agreed that the sandwich was the 2nd best we'd ever eaten. The best sandwich ever was this one we had at the GOMA cafe in Queensland. The two have a lot in common, the GOMA version included balsamic vinegar, chicken & roast capsicum sauce.
After lunch we bought a lime tart, a walnut tart, a cinnamon scroll and a Swedish Easter bun for afternoon tea. Then we strolled back along the Esplanade. Along the way we spotted this gorgeous rope around the street signs.
Here's the view towards Semaphore Jetty and some gulls cruising on the breeze.
Then we walked all the way to the end of Largs Pier to get a better view of the sailing.

Next time we visit Adelaide I think we'll have to visit Swedish Tarts - it looks & sounds amazing. I understand your Swedish friends - my husband is Mexican and when we've had Mexican food here in Melbourne he always says "it't not authentic".
ReplyDeleteI love the rope around the street sign, I wonder how long it took? It reminds me of macrame.
That rope did look like macrame or some of it looked like nautical knots. It must have been done first then slid onto the pole - we couldn't see any joins.
DeleteHi Emma
ReplyDeleteThe green floral fabric I used is from Spotlight "Japan Tana Lawn Green". X
Thanks Sharon,
DeleteI love that Japanese Tana Lawn for making dresses. It's almost as lovely as Liberty Tana Lawn, but a whole lot cheaper!
